Live plants versus seeds

Home inspectors know that the gardens they see always have to start with something. Regardless of whether you are in Calgary or somewhere else in the world there is a certain process to planting a garden.

You have to loosen up the ground and get it ready to be planted. But when you start the process you have a decision to consider. Do you start with live plants or seeds? The thing about this question is you can start seeds in a cup or pot to put in the ground as a starter plant rather than purchase them.

If you are ready to put plants in the ground, then you really need to get some starter plants. It’s just a better way to make sure you get a good looking, healthy plant. It also insures that you don’t have to worry about seeds not germinating. Another reason to use the starter plants is because when you purchase them from a nursery or local greenhouse they may be acclimated to the outside environment already. So you don’t have to worry about the plant dying as soon as you get it planted.

Reasons to use seeds are totally different. The money saved and the fun you have doing it. You could start seeds in pots in your house easily. So you could try things with these seeds and just have fun while you do it.

Even though it’s better to start with the starter plants, it could be costlier for you. The reason for this is because you usually get more seeds in a pack than you do in a pack of starters. A six pack of starters usually cost more than a pack of seeds. So if you are wanting to be more into your finances than your luck in the garden, watch the prices. But if you want to make sure your garden does well, go with the starter plants.

Whichever route you decide to take your garden Calgary home inspectors look forward to seeing the finished product. Good luck and happy gardening!
